HAPPY 60TH NATIONAL DAY, CHINA!

Today the school was like a ghost town. It was so quiet, totally unlike the usual weekdays. I guess it will be like this for the next 7 days. Why don’t we have 8 days of holidays on national day? I think these 8 days of holiday is to allow the locals to travel back to their hometown. China is such a big country that you even have to spend a few hours to travel across one state alone.

Though many people advised us not to go out on National day as there will a lot of people on the streets, we went ahead anyway. We decided to go to town as we were so bored in the room. Here’s what I noticed when I stepped out of the room:

Alot of flies strucked on the spider web.

On the way to town, we saw a lorry transporting 3 huge pigs. FYI, it stinks..

We basically bought our bubble tea, ate our usual snack, roamed around, had dinner then went back home. Yes, it was crowded but not to the extend where we didn't have any space to walk.

I saw this watermelon shoe. I think it's so cool!

And so i tried it. I think it looks nice but i doubt i will dare to wear this on the streets.

We had this for dinner - Bamboo rice

Overall, i felt that the food was too oily and the rice was hard. Btw, i've learnt to accept eating cucumbers already. I guess when you see cucumbers every meal, you will have to learn to eat it so as to save trouble removing all the cucumbers. Usually, they will flood your plates with cucumbers!

Saw this sign when we bought tidbits from Carrefour.

I wanted to take a photo of the background but they always cut into the picture. So irritating. Lol.

You can see the crowd from here.

We saw a China women posing like this when her boyfriend took a photo of her. And so since we found it so hilarious, we decided to follow her as well.

Balloons!! I think these balloons sold here are much nicer than those sold on the streets in Singapore!

On a side note, we watched part of the national day celebrations and we saw that their one contingent equals to almost the whole contingents in Singapore. This is what you get for having 1.3 billion people in China. Also in the parade, they showed off their weapons and we saw their nuclear bomb! Gosh. This's my first time seeing nuclear bombs. Aren't they afraid to showcase this in public? Anyway, imagine they used all this against Singapore, then it'll be game over for us. We definetly cannot survive attacks from China eh? We used to joke that "Singapore would be drowned if everyone in China spits once in our country". They simply have too many people in their country!

"The military show was followed by a colourful parade, with tens of thousands of people marching and singing in unison in a testament to China's ability to harness its vast manpower on a massive scale." Adapted from Yahoo.Sg. This is so cool! I'm so glad to be in China now because i can feel the atmosphere during their 60th national day. They really decorated the whole Wuhan and you can always see China flags everywhere. Even at town, we were given the flags for free. I can see that the locals are very proud of their country through communicating with them.

But! I'm proud to be a Singaporean as well! Just that i'm not really interested in seeing the whole national day parade as it is the same every year. K i know i'm contradicting myself, but still i'm really proud to be a Singaporean. Enough crapping already.. Bye!
