Two days straight of burning midnight oil is wearing my energy out totally. I did my report till about 2a.m. and had to wake up at 8a.m. for lesson. If I’m in Singapore, I am sure that I will not attend class. I’d say that in china, I’ve officially stepped out of my comfort zone. No one is there to hear me whine when I’m tired as everyone is as tired as I am. I have no idea why I’m getting so emotional these days. Probably it’s because now I feel really homesick. But with the support of my friends, I managed to pull myself out of bed every time when I feel like skipping lessons. We’ve learnt to give and take and to understand each other.

Anyway, so today’s morning lesson was on business etiquette. We went to this computer class for lesson.

My friend exclaimed, "The last time i've seen this type of computer was at least 5 years ago!"

Initially I thought that we were going to surf the internet or to play some educational games. Yet, the computer was just for us to see the PowerPoint slides. Worst still, they locked the computer such that we cannot click on anything to run other programs such as the internet explorer or games. So we simply sat there and tried to stay awake for the whole 2 hours. It was interesting as we learnt quite a lot on the dress codes and the special points of the other countries to take note of when we go there to do business. Such as in Saudi Arabia, people are expected to be late for meetings while in Japan and United States, it is rude to be late for meetings. And that Germans expect to see hard copies during business meetings so we have to prepare them before hand instead of explaining verbally about the deals to the Germans.

Anyway, do take a look at the video and the photos below:

Everyone trying desperately to open up some other programmes but it was to no avail

Most of the slides are like the photo shown above. Questions and answers. It made the lesson much more interesting

But then towards the end these wordy slides soon surfaced

Video of my teacher reading straight from the slide.

Some random photo to kill my boredom

More chunk of words

My friend fiddled with the key board and managed to change something on the screen! He made it upside-down!

In some countries, it is rude to be drunk. Eg. Malaysia.

And i realised that teacher in China like to end their PowerPoint with "Thanks" while in Singapore, we will usually put "Thank You". Agree?

During lunch break all of us went back to our dorm to touch up on our report and I took a nap. I felt so much better. Once again, all of us skipped lunch and went for lessons straight. The next lesson was on Ayuverda. I am glad to hear that all of us did quite well for the test and I’m thankful that there is no more tests for the remaining 2 weeks in china. But still, to make up the marks for not having any more tests, we have to write reflections after every lesson. Gosh. More work to do! But I will not give up because I’ll always feel motivated when I remind myself that I’m going back home. Haha.

As you can see, everyone was struggling to stay awake during lesson. The after effects of the test on the day before.

After 1 hour of lecture on ayuverda, we practiced Yoga and QiGong as these are part of complementary alternative medicine. QiGong isn’t as easy as it seems. And Yoga can really tone up our muscles if we were to do it every day. It’s quite strenuous! If it wasn’t for this lesson, I think I will never experience how it feels to do Yoga and QiGong.

Yoga Lesson

We had to hold our hand up for about 1 minute. Try it and tell me how you feel.

This pose is like for those pre-natal courses teaching the mothers to relax

Slowly... The class participation went down. It was simply too slow to maintain our enthusiasm.

Next up.. QiGong time!

That's about all that i've learnt today. Oh I forgot to mention that I signed up for a dance CCA in china a few days back. Haha. Hope I have the chance to go for at least one session with them before I go back Singapore!
