My day started with 3 hours of Hubei’s history and geography lesson. My goodness, it was tough trying to stay awake. However, the lesson was very interesting as I learnt a lot such as about how the name Hubei came about, the names of the 3 districts in Hubei, how the traditional festivals (dragon boat festival, Chinese lovers day) came about and the place and food of interest in Hubei, Wuhan. However about 1.5 hours since lessons started, I started to stone and stared into the blank space.

During break we all rushed out of the class just to take
a walk around. Honestly, I think Ngee Ann Polytechnic spoilt us too much. We have numerous breaks, maybe 1 break every hour. But in China, the teacher only allowed us one 5 minute break for the whole of 3 hours! And worst still, she cramped a lot of information into this 3 hour, more than what we will be taught in 3 hours of lesson in Singapore! I totally take my hats off to the local students.

I keep seeing many platoons of uniform groups.
They don't seem to have lessons as they are training whole day long!

Anyway, I had this for lunch:

Xiao Long Bao

Soya Bean Drink

All of us ate one long each. Well, we saw the signboard and thought that it was selling at 4 Xiao Long Baos for 1 yuan. Since it was so cheap we decided to get one each. And so that was what we got. There were some misunderstandings. We ordered “3 longs of xiao long bao” but it was supposed to be “3 yuan xiao long bao”. oh my goodness, I end up surrendering after eating 6 baos. It was nice though a little salty. And this soya bean drink was so diluted. I realized that the china drinks are all diluted yet the foods are rich in their flavors. Weird right?

So around 7pm we went out to have our dinner. We’re getting bored of the food around the vicinity – always the same old stalls and food. But till now, I still detest the smell of the fermented tofu. It’s “fragrance” is simply overwhelming. We always make a detour when approaching the stall. We walked around and saw a shop selling hamsters, rabbits, guinea pigs and terrapins. Obviously there is an overcrowding of terrapins which led to the death of the terrapin. In Singapore, i've never seen such overcrowding of terrapins. Usually they will be spread out to other tanks or put together in a bigger tank.

Actually there are other terrapins almost dying. They are floating lifelessly.

Notice that the security guard is now the cashier. I guess their job required them to do multi jobs eh?

See the trail of litters around? It's not the fault of the customers. Instead, it was the stall owners so simply threw these paper bowls on the floor in order to clear the table.

I thought of something weird just now when looking at the litters. I thought that it would be impossible to find money on the streets even if the area is filled with rubbish. While back in our clean Singapore, we might even find money sometimes on the street. Never once you can find a street not filled with people as China has a huge population. And even if you find money, other people would have snatched it before you. So if i ever find money in China, i will definitely by 4D on the time and the date in which i pick up the money. Haha. Lame. But that weird thinking suddenly popped into my mind.

Alright, time to sleep. Tomorrow reporting time at 7.15a.m. I pray that the weather will be cold tomorrow, unlike the last 2 days including today. Bless me. Good night!
